What we process and why

• **Using the website.** Our servers record technical data such as your IP address, browser and time of visit. We use it to keep the website working and secure (legitimate interest), and it is kept only for a short time.
• **Visitor statistics.** We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how the website is used. It uses no cookies and does not identify individual visitors; it only shows aggregate figures such as the number of visits and the most popular pages.
• **Bookings.** Sauna sessions are booked through the Vello booking system. A booking involves the name, contact details and booking details of the person booking, processed to handle the booking (contract). Vello processes booking data on our behalf, and its own terms and privacy policy are shown when you book.
• **Contacting us.** When you call or send a message, we process the information you give us to answer your question and handle your booking.
• **Payments.** Receipts for payments made on site are kept for the period required by the Finnish Accounting Act.

Cookies and browser storage

The website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. Your language choice is stored in a cookie (ah_kieli, valid for one year) so the site opens in the language you chose. Your soundscape choice is stored in the browser session and is removed when you close the browser. Open the booking calendar takes you to Vello's own booking service in a new tab. There, Vello may set its own cookies and use its own analytics and marketing tools (such as Google and Meta). These are covered by Vello's privacy policy, and Arctic Haven receives no data about you through them.

Recipients and transfers

The website runs on Cloudflare's servers, and the site's content and files are stored in the EU. Cloudflare may also process technical data outside the EU, in which case the transfer is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Booking data is processed by Vello. We do not sell data or share it for marketing.

Retention

We keep data only as long as it is needed for the purposes described above or required by law.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to request its correction or deletion, to restrict or object to its processing, and to have it transferred to another system. You can make requests using the contact details above. If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
